All B/R Instrument solvent recyclers and formalin recyclers are automatic systems for recycling solvents in histology and industrial laboratories. Solvent recycling can recover money that is going down the drain or being hauled away.

Solvent Recycling made easy! Let this fully automatic solvent recycler do all the work. Simply put the used solvent into place, push start and let the solvent recycler do the rest. When the recycled solvent is ready for reuse, the solvent recycler will alert you with an audible alarm and a message on the display.

Solvent Recycling is safe! The microprocessor controller watches over the solvent recycler, constantly checking all safety parameters. At the end of the solvent recycling program, the equipment stops the process automatically and lets you know that the recycled solvent is ready for reuse.

2.2 Natural Products, Flavors, Fragrances and Essential Oils

B/R Instrument offers a variety of equipment for distilling natural products, flavors, fragrances, and essential oils.

We offer spinning band distillation columns and packed distillation columns of various sizes. Fully automatic and manually operated models are available. Boiling flask sizes range from 10ml to 50 liters and the number of theoretical plates range from 15 to 200.

For purification of materials in the 1 to 50 liter range, the 9600 Fractional Distillation Apparatus is ideal. It is a high efficiency fractional distillation system capable of purifying essential oils, flavors, fragrances and natural products. The very low "hold up" means that the minimum amount of the valuable material is left behind in the distillation column after purification is complete. The microprocessor controller automates the fractional distillation, minimizing the need for operator attention.

For purification of materials in the 25 ml to 1 liter range, the 36-100 Mini Fractional Distillation Apparatus is recommended. This distillation apparatus has all the advantages of the 9600 distillation system with 4 times the separating power.

 

 

 

For really small samples, consider the 800 Micro-Distillation Apparatus. This distillation equipment has the most separating power available for samples in the 5 to 25 ml range.

ASTM D1160 Vacuum Distillation Apparatus

The B/R 1100 is an easy to use ASTM D1160 (ISO 6616) vacuum distillation apparatus for the distillation of petroleum products. All models conform to ASTM D1160.

The fully-automatic D1160 features fully automatic control from a PC along with standard ASTM glassware.  Vacuum level, bath temperature, distillation rate and so forth are all programmable through the PC and are controlled automatically.  1000’s of programs can be stored.

Semi Automatic D1160
The semi-automatic D1160 features standard ASTM D1160 glassware enhanced with microprocessor control. The vacuum level, bath temperature and heating rates are programmable with up to 50 stored programs. Vapor temperature, distilling flask temperature and vacuum level are digitally displayed. Optional PC interface allows the distillation to be controlled from a PC and for data to be stored on the PC.

Manually Operated ASTM D1160
The manually operated D1160 features standard ASTM D1160 glassware in a convenient mounting cabinet. Glassware, bath and vacuum system are all ergonomically mounted in a cabinet with safety shields. The manually operated apparatus can be upgraded to a semi-automatic system at any time.
